WORK AT GIGANTICA - DANNY FAIRBRASS
I am proud to announce that we have purchased the 30-acre lake
directly across the road from Gigantica, in France.
The Road Lake, as it will be called, will be totally different to
the original Gigantica, now known as the Main Lake. It will be a
runs water with a high stock of fish between 25lb and 50lb. We have
already stocked the lake with 270 fish between 15lb and 28lb from
the prestigious Bachelier family who control Etang La Horre, the
famous 'long-range' water that’s full of fifties, sixties and now
seventy-plus fish, fish so the blood line is second to none.
In addition, our scaly fish in the stock pond on the Main Lake are
going into the Road Lake, plus anything caught from the Main Lake
under 25lb. We expect more than 150 fish to go across this season,
which means that the Road Lake will get more and more prolific,
with new fish going in all year. There will be at least another 300
fish going in this November from Bachelier so its gonna be on fire
for 2013! If you are interested in fishing it when it opens in July
2012, or wish to reserve places for 2013, call the Gigantica
booking number 01268 820440.
This means the stocking density of the Main Lake will reduce
meaning another sharp rise in the size of the 500 or so fish left.
We expect no less than four 80lb-plus fish by this autumn and as
many as ten eighties by autumn 2013!
The Road Lake was stocked in the mid 90's with Bacheliers fish and
hardly been fished since so there could be some monsters in there,
but we simply don't know so are airing on the side of caution,
expect some of them may have grown legs over the years!
Swim building on the Road Lake begins in earnest at the start of
March so our first request for manpower is this:
Grafters required to swim-build and clear trees on the new
Gigantica Road Lake. Days are long and the work is heavy and
strenuous. Exploratory fishing on the Road Lake at night is
compulsory! You may even be able to fish the Main Lake during the
closed season and on the odd week it is not full.
We will feed you with a hearty breakfast and massive evening meal,
along with a beer or glass of vin. All extra beer and bait can be
purchased at cost prices. We hope to get enough keen people who are
happy to work for food and fishing, but if you have particular
skills, i.e. you’re a qualified builder or plumber, or better
still, have a 1 to 3 tonne digger, we may be able to pay you one
way or another.
Please call Jon Mann at Gigantica Bookinngs on 01268 820440 or e
mail your interest to bookings@gigantica-carp.co.uk
The second position is a paid permanent bailiff to work with Danny
T, aka 'Le Grand Fromage'.
Duties include:
Cooking for our clients, breakfast and evening meals
Stock control of food and beverage, bait and tackle
Upkeep and maintenance of the kitchen, dining
area, toilets, shower, stock room and site generally
First aid support for clients.
Assisting clients in their day-to-day angling, offering advice and
coaching as needs be.
Fish care and fishery management including repairing broken fins,
dressing wounds and transfer of fish around the site as part of the
ongoing fishery management plan
Assisting clients with large fish, i.e. weighing and
photographing
Plus, dealing with other day-to-day issues as they arise.
Training in catering and food hygiene is arranged in the UK and
fishery management is taught on location in France.
The job is varied and rewarding but is seven days a week and while
there are quiet periods during the day, it will be full-on at other
times. The ideal candidate needs to be highly motivated and able to
work independently and most of all be happy working in France full
time.
Paid holidays are five weeks in the three-month winter season but
are limited to one week in the summer.
All living expenses are paid including room (local villa), food and
fuel (work related journeys).
This means the modest salary of £13,500 to £15,000 per annum
(depending on bailiffing experience), is all disposable income,
giving you the opportunity to bank the money and build savings,
have a very comfortable lifestyle in France or superb holidays in
the off season. There is also a profit-related bonus based on the
success of the business.
You will of course be able to fish nights on either the Main or
Road lake depending on the client numbers and bait and tackle comes
at our cost price.
If you cherish the opportunity to work in beautiful, rural
surroundings on one of the premier complexes in France, alongside
one of life’s proper characters (Fromage) and enjoy giving great
service to your clients, then we urgently want to speak to you.

Good luck and tight lines!
