There may be some of you anglers out there that do simply not have
the time to make new rigs before you go fishing the day before or
if your pretty fast tie them while your fishing.
There are loads of tackle shops selling you the items needed to tie
your own tipical rig with all sorts including hooks, swivels, easy
clips, braid or mono, coated, heat shrink etc by buying these items
you can make a good strong standard rig or mabye your own personal
rig from using differant items to make your fishing presentation's
stand out from the crowd.
On the other hand we have factory made rigs where the machine can
probaley produce 10 a minute but using the same items required so
if your buying that rig the must have seen it a couple of 100 times
and knows that somethings going on with the bait by the rig.
So my thoughts are making your own rig is the best because when it
get old and needs changing you can buy the differant item required
so i would recommend learning to tie rigs if you havn't already but
if you are using those ready made rigs and they are working now,
its only a matter of time until you will find your success will go
down hill.
BTW I found that esp ready made strip teaze rigs are crap.

when i used to use the esp ready tied rigs when i started
carping, i found they wernt actually as strong as they had
labelled them to be, as they wer fraying and even snapping whilst
bringing in small f1 carp, has anyone elce found this to be true?
( btw i was using something like the 12lb-15lb ready tied rigs)

much rather tie my own as preferance in braid and hook dont come
as a ready made + if you snap off or there is a nik in the
hooklink you got no one else to blame but your self " leave
nothing to chance"

I would never buy a ready tied rig, y?? only takes 5 mins the
most to make ur own. plus as fendrod boy says if u have a snap
off or hook pull, then its only urself to blame, plus id feel
more convident using my own tied rig rather than a ready made.

problem cause I thought I
might had been doing something wrong since I had 7 snaps on strip
teaze esp ready made back in 2007 when I cba to make them at the
time cause i had some friends with me and none off them caught
fish :( because of the crap rigs in the pleasure lake in hazel

I think like most here I get satisfaction out of tying my own rigs
and the joy of knowing how to tie them. However if one needs
convenience the things are there if one needs them

always tie my own rigs! i cant trust buying them as you dont know
if it was made proply which is costing you a fish if you loose it.
make them yourself .. you also save loads of money and you can only
blame yourself

I always tie my own and now days I tie rigs to sale , but they all
get the same test and loving care that I give my own rigs , infact
if I need a rig I often just raid any stock I have, I also sell my
own material for my customers to make there own rigs and have a
step by step guide for them to use. "Get on the Weed "
