** Jim Gibbinson ** - Carp Talk Hall of Fame - Anglers Profile
By Team APJim Gibbinson
A major influence in the modern pursuit of carp fishing is the remarkable Jim Gibbinson. His writing output alone published through dozens of articles and features in the weekly fishing press and monthly periodicals is staggering and budding carp anglers from the late
1960s to the present day have benefitted from Jim’s wise words. On top of this you have his unprecedented five carp only books spanning over 45 years.
Jim has also been instrumental in the design of carp rods,
ringing patterns etc. Rods such as the ‘Clooper’ carp rod, Tri
Cast and Eclipse ranges were groundbreaking and hugely successful
both at home and abroad.
His first twenty-pounder came in the mid 1960s from
Peterborough‘s famous ‘Electricity Cut’ and Jim has been catching
worthwhile carp ever since. He was also a major influence in the
pursuit of winter carp and his cold water carping successes
attracted a great many carp anglers to dust down their carp rods
even when snow lay on the ground.
His clear and factual, no nonsense writing style has made him one of the most widely read carp fishing authors ever. A true Carp Fishing Hall of Fame member.

** New ** Daiwa iB-One Bite Alarms - Anglers Profile Exclusive!
By Team AP
Where to start??? Well it’s not good and it’s not bad.... To begin we would like to now fill anyone in who does not know that Daiwa are a japan based company, as many people will say "that’s so japan style" well yeah because Daiwa have been based in Japan forever!
So why the ugly and
cheap look? well no one is able to say yet as we are the first
actually talking about this new product and we speak the truth as
all of you may already know from previous blogs and reviews,
first thing to point out is the tight gap to put your rod in
although this is not life sized it does not look Dangler
Friendly, on a plus point is smaller in size compared to other
alarms on the market you may see, next bad point is why the nasty
cheap leds with coloured lenses!??? For heaven’s sake why not pay
1p more for H20 Clear Leds that are 200% brighter, that takes us
on to the battery life it does have an awesome battery life for
the time the battery is
good and up to scratch, we
could go on forever giving plus and negs but overall we are
confused as to why Daiwa have made this Bite Alarm? we would say
let’s wait until Mr Fairbrass reviews them but to be honest I
think he will stick to Delks, read below the official
overview.

** Peter Mohan ** - Carp Talk - Hall Of Fame - Anglers Profile
By Team APPeter Mohan
Peter started carp fishing in the mid 1940s, but really came to the fore in the 1970s and 1980s. He founded (with the late Eric Hodson) the influential British Carp Study Group in 1969 and a little later in 1974 the successful Carp Anglers’ Association.
We also have Peter Mohan to thank for the very first carp magazines, the BCSG publication The Carp (the No. 3 edition in June 1970 had a printed front and back cover for the first time), and later in March 1975 the more widespread CAA magazine. Both organisations had a lively and successful regional meeting structure in place by the mid 1970s as well as holding the first organised Carp Conferences – again it was Peter Mohan who spearheaded these groundbreaking events in the history of our sport.
Peter was also the controller of a number of carp waters in the west of England and for a time ran the famous Ashlea Pool syndicate where he caught a 30-pounder in 1969.
A prolific writer on all matters carp, Peter also wrote a number of books, Carp for Everyone, Carp- Step by Step, Basic Carp Fishing and Cypry – the Story of a Carp.
As a director of Linear Fisheries, which controls a number famous carp fisheries including Elstow, Peter Mohan is still very much involved in carp fishing today.
** Chris Yates ** - Carp Talk - Hall Of Fame - Anglers Profile
By Team AP
One of the most celebrated
carp anglers of modern times through his fluid and stylish
writing prowess, photographic skills and of course his catches.
Chris broke Dick Walker’s long-held carp record of 44lb on
opening day 16th June 1980 with a Redmire mirror of
51½lb. In fact, he’d nearly broken Walker’s record some seven years earlier with a common of 43lb 13½oz, also at Redmire.
Chris is credited with the discovery of sweetcorn as a bait, having taken a tin to eat while fishing at Redmire in 1972, but only used half the contents. As an experiment with the remainder, he cast out a “hookfull of corn”... the rest is history.
Among the many fine books Chris has written are carp classics such as Casting at the Sun, The Secret Carp, Four Seasons and Shadows and Reflections, besides a long spell writing for the monthly magazine Coarse Fishing, another spell as the first editor of Waterlog magazine, plus dozens of articles for most of the UK angling press. Currently, Chris writes a twice-a-month feature in the Weekend edition of the Saturday Daily Telegraph.
In 1989, he embarked with Bob James and world-renowned wildlife cinematographer Hugh Miles to feature in the definitive Passion for Angling TV series. Chris even went back to Redmire Pool to land a couple of the famous old warriors for the camera.
** NEW ** NASH MAINLINE - NXT - Anglers Profile
By Team AP
So Nash Have had a delivery of new line arrived at HQ, yes it looks very smart and we are guessing they are either tins with a matt finish or hard cardboard tubs or Kevs second hand brylcream pots.... whatever they are they contain Nash NXT Line, as you can gather from the one box the closest it says NXT Bullet, We are guessing this is the casting line?
First Question is:
Are these Lines just another line that has had a differant sticker put on them? (Sourced)
What is the retai?
Is there room for more line in the market with all the great line products around do we need more?!
We will update everyone with more info very soon, post your comments below...
** NEW ** KORDA GOO - Review - Anglers Profile
By Team AP

So what is this "KORDA GOO"? Well we don’t quite know what's so
good about it just yet and why we should all use it but we are
pretty sure Ali
will
tell us it's going to put more carp on the bank, the main issue
here that a lot of anglers will have is that liquids are
available in all flavours and colours but none really have a
catch result on paper, also is this just another product made
in the same factory? With a different label? harsh words you
may say but Korda have specialised in tackle for years and to
go into the bait category is risky shiz for want of a better
word, on the positive side, Danny fairbrass head man did state
in his free korda dvds that he wouldn’t make a product if they
couldn't do it better...this was referring to the daiwa
collection, it just makes us wonder here at AP why the heck do
we need the GOO? Sure enough the boys will tell us....
Let’s hope it "puts more fish on the bank!"
VIDEO:
Hinders Comment:
Korda Goo Tutti Frutti Power Smoke is a new concept in fish attractant from those clever guys at Korda. This additive creates a bait trail that no carp can resist. Available in two different viscosities, Power Smoke and Bait Smoke in six irresistible fish catching flavours.
- Supplied in bottles of 115mls.
Ali States on Twitter:
You can get it at Hinders now here: http://www.hinders.co.uk/cat/859/korda-goo-additives
Or you Can Wait till April the 1st as Ali Stated....

Anglers Profile Held the first ever online treasure hunt event in
the history on fishing! also breaking another record for giving
76 prizes away in 3 hours, not only has no fishing website done
this but has been able to organize something so big in such short
time.
Anglers Profile at 11pm via the Facebook page ace announced
“COMPETITION TIME! TREASURE HUNT! " as the message was spread it
ended up being on 40 different high profiles, the aim was for you
to find the missing treasure chests that captain jack had lost on
his journey looking around AP, first you had to sign up get
familiar with the site and wait for 3pm when the hunt began.
There were 117 chances to win something and 500 in it to win it!
Also there was the Lost Diamond, fallen Ruby, Wicked Emerald,
Juicy Gold Brick, these were top prizes and if you found it, you
were laughing
guaranteed! After 2 hours the
diamond was found by Mike Hall who was more than happy to shout
out on the wall "IVE FOUND IT!" although he said he was so
excited filling the form in before everyone else he didn’t have a
clue what he had won! Second top contender was young Coxy he
wouldn’t stop nagging for tips and fair play was searching high
and low, he
found the ruby
which the clue was "there’s a ghost behind you" coxy discovered
the ruby was behind the word you, and then the biggest laugh of
the night had to be taddy, he was on the search for the emerald
he took all the clues got to the carp channel looked all over
just to find it was in
front of him
all the time it was in the position the ap logo would be

Keseru's Daily Blog - 31/01/2012
By Team AP
Yes! I have not written one of these for ages
and really have not had the time which deserves a slap wrist for
not making time! But not to worry after drinking my cup of pg
tips tea I am motivated to tell you a little about my day
everyday: D but first let’s find out what you missed out on last
week...
Last Week:
Anglers Profile Signed a Deal with online fishing TV so they would start supplying prizes every month for the site, the first prize is a dynamite
bait kit and some DVD's of
chilly on carp, this will ensure that 2012 Anglers Profile is able
to offer you nonstop competitions but this year we are still trying
to put together a more professional way of doing these comps which
will end up just being "send your pic in and we judge it"
haha.Last week I spoke to the Vice Chairman of the federation of welsh
anglers, we
discussed some very interesting topics about wales and also have
some great big plans for wales on the carp scene as it is
neglected big time.
Myself
Ben Keseru Phillips and Simon James travelled to Reading were Simon
was my guest on the ever so popular Wellington Syndicate although
you may not have heard of it, we come to an agreement that it is
the best top lake in Britain if you want to say the "BEST!" but
we'll leave that to you although you have to join a waiting list of
200 to get onto a lake with 50 members at £1500 a year but for the
average fish being 40lb your all the way up to 52-54lb its worth a
shout. We arrived on the Thursday and finished on the Sunday 3 nights 4 days, every time we go we get this magical feeling and the anglers that are present are A* no matter which one of the 50 it is they are top dog...including myself ;) jokes, and because the last time I could make it to Wellie was last year I had was so out of touch with the methods I needed to quickly trawl some tips and tricks!
I will not give the results out now as there is a separate blog being written about this last weekend but keep your eyes peeled for it :D
Today:
Well today I will be in contact with a company by the name of Carp Balls ( www.carpballs.co.uk)
Online Fishing TV has asked us to build a new website under a new name on a different business ground.
A competition will be made up for the site.
I will be in contact with Jon Taylor the Vice Chairman from the federation of welsh anglers.
New Footage will be uploaded here of wellington before it hits its own website.
Taking a visit to the local Tackle Shop Reel Fishing.
Yourself:
You should get a blog up of your daily activities or just weekly Anglers love knowing what going on around the country alone your bivvy ;)
