** NEW ** KORDA GOO - Review - Anglers Profile
By Team AP

So what is this "KORDA GOO"? Well we don’t quite know what's so
good about it just yet and why we should all use it but we are
pretty sure Ali
will
tell us it's going to put more carp on the bank, the main issue
here that a lot of anglers will have is that liquids are
available in all flavours and colours but none really have a
catch result on paper, also is this just another product made
in the same factory? With a different label? harsh words you
may say but Korda have specialised in tackle for years and to
go into the bait category is risky shiz for want of a better
word, on the positive side, Danny fairbrass head man did state
in his free korda dvds that he wouldn’t make a product if they
couldn't do it better...this was referring to the daiwa
collection, it just makes us wonder here at AP why the heck do
we need the GOO? Sure enough the boys will tell us....
Let’s hope it "puts more fish on the bank!"

Our day out...
By JDRosie and I went fishing yesterday in that wonderful weather; what could go wrong? We arrived in perfect time and had the pond to ourselves, I took my time setting up and settled down to the most comfortable days fishing I could imagine.
Rose was making heavy weather of it across the pond in her swim as I plumed the depth and found it to be around 14 ft deep. As she is a novice, in her first year of returning to the sport following a 30 odd year lay-off, I advised her to stop putting up her waggler rod and to get her pole out, which she did after a few muttered inaudible words.
She eventually got it right and two hours after arriving, she made her first cast and caught a small roach! I promptly caught two and then she began having problems with the handling of the pole; I watched as her right leg slid from under her and into the water. She scrambled back and sat down. At this point a gust of wind caught hold of the fishing umbrella, which she had erected as a parasol and heaved it into the pond in front of her. More muttered curses.
At this point I went round to offer my support – I had not done so earlier as she is most single minded and likes to sort things out for herself, but I saw it was getting out of hand now – and as the brolly slowly sank into the depths I asked her for a strong rod with a reel containing heavy line, which she duly presented me with and I set up. After a couple of abortive casts, I connected with the errant brolly and began slowly but inexorably, hoisting it to the surface.
I asked for a landing net to get some purchase on the spike which was now protruding from the water by a couple of feet and as she span round, her left leg decided to make the same slow and inevitable journey as the right had earlier. I could do nothing to assist, as my hands and concentration were firmly fixed on the brolly pole as she gently returned to shore - muttering. I got the brolly out and dismantled it whilst I was shown a chunk of hand missing, between thumb and forefinger, where the mechanism of the brolly had, some time earlier, taken a bite out of her left hand.
At this point we decided to pack up and return home. As Rose drove home with all the windows open, I asked if we might go back again tomorrow, for another crack at it and was greeted my an icy stare, which was nice as it was getting quite humid by now…

Anglers Profile Social 2010
By Team AP
Anglers Profile Winter Social raises the bar.

Many socials are held around the uk by different groups and company's, but how many socials have 15 sponsors and every angler gets free food every day and in the evening gathering around with all other anglers to watch the rugby... Well this social had all of this, everyone arrived on the 19th of November 10am, within the social we added a charity match for the Cardiff children care unit so there would be some sort of fun within the event, there was a mix of anglers and it was looking tough as they were all top men from around the country including Nash very own Alan Price, the location was white springs fishery, Swansea, south wales, this fishery is famous for holding some top quality fish from all sizes ranging from early 10lb to big 42lb carp, as you can imagine everyone was itching to fish and get the chance of bagging a big fish and taking gold.

The Event lasted 48hours and you can bet it was 48hours of pure enjoyment, on the fishing side there wasn't really much showing and the anglers were all hitting it hard with all sorts so the social really did take into place as all anglers were at one of the main cabins on both nights either having a drink and a catch up or watching the rugby and even though wales lost and there was still no fish the smile was still present, Vince the fishery owner visited daily with his charity bucket, raffle tickets were sold, sponsorship forms were collected kindly, white springs really is a perfect location as it has maximum security assuring all anglers there cars and gear is safe and all facilitys are on site.

Plenty of bream was pulled out unfortunately but i guess its a fish, only 4 carp were caught size ranging between 12lb-14lb so not very big but on a Sunday morning a few hurs before the horn sounds its good enough to win it all, Gareth Davies caught 3 and Michael rob caught 1, Gareth won the event getting himself £100 and loads of goodies, michael rob won himself £75 along with his goodies, 3rd place was donated to charity, raffle prizes included products from Korda, Hinders, Pro-logic.
On site was the Anglers Profile super car which will be traveling the UK 2011 to all different shows such as the carpin'on show and all other local shows near you.
Throughout the 48hours main sponsor Lewis pies gave free pies, pasty's, rissoles, sausage rolls you name it everyone had one free along with some real crisps, other sponsors gave prizes for the raffle and winning positions and Anglers Profile would like to thank all sponsors for helping out and the kind hospitality from Vince white springs for the free cuppa ;)

Anglers Profile has seen a dream like many other people but this weekend we showed everyone a vision of what is to come, here at anglers profile we really want to help welsh carp fishing and we know a lot of mega carp fishing company are with us but we also see the bigger picture.

Fishing line??<<<
By Team AP
SOOOOOOOO we have had the big boys on tv telling us what line to get and you have your m8's telling you not what to get but are your m8's going by what they say on tv and are you thinking that the tv guys are wrong because they are getting paid and the forum tell you this and that and because a human posted a comment saying this is crap ir good you beleave that commetn because they took the time to post it over the internet??? CONFUSED???

Exactley! the problem, these days the tackle market in all fishing genres is driven by word of mouth as everyone in theory is a field tester you all buy the product and use it if its good then its got its place up for sale on the shelfs if its bad it gets recalled and is never to be seen again but either way the product lable will disapear of the shelfs in future.
You could have a product that comes out but is waiting for a solution or a fix or even a technique to using it in fishing, e.g. NASH amber strawberry boilies are useless in wales but! some clever cloggs figured it created a perfect cloud formation under water in the winter time creating a EXTREME-ATTRACT bait.
But the bait was useless and may aswell stopped selling in welsh tackle shops as it was wasting NASH'S money for the production line.
Getting back to the point of line you have to know whats good and whats not.
There are many diferant colours of line and differant types to make it easy we are going to get to the point and tell you straight what is good.
Ok so to begin:
Monoline: OK (COARSE AND SEA)
BRAID: OK (COARSE AND OTHERS)
HYDRO: OK (CARP AND SEA)
H20 FILL:OK (CARP)
FLURO: GREAT (ALL GENRES)
so there you have a small list telling you what is good depending on the type of fishing genre you have taken up it will vary from differant enviroments you are fishing I would keep safe and have a spool of each one but do your research and watch videos to see what is needed for the enviroment you are up against.
Here is a video form KORDA tackle to show you what braid looks like under water as danny fairbrass explains but relating to all genres of fishing this video shows how important it is to make sure your line is camo to the enviroment and surrounding's and textures.
At the end of the day fellow anglers it is the effort you put into it is what you get out, if you cannot prepare to win you have prepared to loose.
